New Homeland Security mandates require all Fire Department members be trained in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) in order to be eligible to receive grant money in 2007. The course is available on line here.  There are many course option available. The ones we need to complete are IS-700 and IS-800. It is not necessary to complete IS-100 and IS-200, as they are incorporated into IS-700 and IS-800 respectively. However, if you do take them, they will count as additional training. 

We have covered much of this during department trainings, so you should be able to knock these out pretty quickly. On completion, you will be e-mailed your certificate. Please forward a copy of this certificate to our Chief Training Officer for proper documentation. Each course is worth one hour training credit. If you need any additional help, contact Chief Training Officer Ted Wyka or Captain Bob Stoll.
